Mission
More than 100 kids (ages 5-15, some of who have never been in school) are currently in school in Gomue, rural Liberia.

The project began in 2017 when Emmanuel, a student at the University of Wisconsin, decided to build the first school ever in his isolated home village of Gormue, Liberia.
Yarkpawolo Public School will serve over 80 school-aged children (and their parents) from many isolated villages who currently have no access to education. With a ton of local community support in both Madison and Gormue, grassroot fundraising efforts took off, leading to the build of the school foundation, walls and roof this last summer. A road is now being built as well. Built by local hands with local materials, and supported by people like you! YOUR SUPPORT IS CRITICAL TO FINISHING THE SCHOOL! |

A small non-monoculture sustainable palm oil plantation cooperatively owned by the village
will provide the long-term income to sustain the school.
